Internships

David Tobin (b. 1994) has written of his transition year work experience under Maria Kelemen at the YES School of Music:

'I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned a lot during the course of the lessons. I now know a few things that I should do when I teach young children in the future. I hope I was helpful and was not too much of a burden on you. I hope the children enjoyed the lessons as well. Now I know I will definitely teach the violin (and viola!) at some stage in the future. It is a very enjoyable occupation and I am very grateful to you for giving me the opportunity to experience it.'

YES offers 13 weeks of work experience to older students who wish to learn instruction in teaching younger children. During a YES internship, the student assists the teacher during theory classes and helps out in the orchestra.
